Grand Civil War Ball

Saturday, April 14, 2018

Doors open at 7 pm and the dance begins promptly at 8 pm

The Century Club, 612 Jefferson Ave., Scranton PA

Join us for a delightful evening in the ballroom of the historic Century Club as we travel back in time to reenact a mid-19th century formal ball. Dance the night away with live music by vintage dance band, Spare Parts, as they play authentic music from the Civil War era including polkas, waltzes, schottische and several reels such as the Virginia Reel and Snowball Reel. Vintage dance instructor, Martha Griffin, will precept the ball. She will offer a brief instruction before each set dance and then lead you through the sequences that comprise each dance.

It's fun! It's easy! All dances will be taught, so no prior dance experience is necessary.
